Meet Pastor Chad Whitmore

I grew up in rural Iowa; a small town where everyone knew who you were. It was a time when, if you were misbehaving, your parents knew it before you got home. I lived a block away from the Church of Christ. I went to Sunday School and worship every Sunday and attended VBS each summer. However, the greatest impact on my life was our youth group. There was something truly special about that group. Not only did we have fun, we dug deep into God’s Word. And the prayer time...oh, the prayer time. Sometimes, for 30 minutes or more, we would circle up and pray our hearts out. When done, we were often exhausted. It was in this time, I surrendered my life to the Lord.

I chose to enter the ministry and enrolled at Central Christian College of the Bible where I graduated in 1993. But before I graduated, I met Cheryl. We married in 1992 and have raised three children. Our daughter, Paige, has married Jeremy. Our son, Ian, has married Destiny. Our son, Joel, will soon graduate high school.

I started in ministry as a youth leader, but I had a real desire for preaching. I’ve been preaching fulltime since 1992 and have been with Connections since 2000. Connections Christian Church is special place. We hold to the Truth of God’s Word, but know how to show grace as we all grow into the fullness of Christ. I appreciate the friendly, welcoming, and encouraging group of people found here.

This is a place I want to be.
