Care Packages For Our Troops

This summer we partnered with Blue Star Mothers of Iowa to collect items for our troops with the hope we can in a small way, thank our men and women for their tremendous sacrifice and service.

New Mothers on Mother's Day

Last Mother's Day we partnered with the Right To Life Book Sale to collect supplies for expecting mothers and new babies. All items which were collected were donated to Birthright in Des Moines.

Winter Wear Drive

Connections Christian Church would like to express our thanks to those who live in the area near Indian Hills Junior High and who participated in our winter clothing drive. On January 19th we dropped off a bag and a note at the doors of homes surrounding the school. The following Saturday our congregation picked up nearly 50 bags of winter clothing from our neighbors. Your gifts will make a great impact for many at the Central Iowa Shelter and Hawthorne Hill! Thank you again for your generosity!

Other Missions and Outreach

First Fruits Offering

Every year our congregation is given the opportunity to participate in a "First Fruits" offering, which is put toward a variety of special missions. In 2012 we decided to give to two missions: Disciples Ministries in the Philippines (Nigel Pyle, Director) and Freedom For Youth which provides after school programming for inner city youth in Des Moines area. The First Fruits offering took place on November 18th.

Bring Christmas to Hope

During the months of November and December, we collected items for Hope Ministries/Bethel Mission to share for Christmas. We collected a number of items for both men and women, such as warm clothing and toiletry items.
